Job Description of DIFC Courts Case Progression Officer

We have an exciting vacancy for a Case Progression Officer (“CPO”) in the DIFC Courts. Our CPO will be primarily responsible for the day to day management of claims and applications filed in the Court of First Instance (CFI), Arbitration Division, Technology and Construction Division and the Court of Appeal (CA). The CPO will work closely with the Registrar in managing day to day case progression. To be considered for this role, you should ideally have a law degree and some experience working within a common law framework . Excellent English language (verbal and written) skills are a must. Job Responsibilities: Responsible for all even numbered registered cases in terms of procedural case progression. Tasks include case management of cases assigned by ensuring parties are complying with DIFC Court Rules and other directions and orders. Issuing procedural directions and orders on instruction from the Registrar and Judges. Sitting in on hearings and assisting Judges and Registrars throughout the course of the hearing. Preparing case progress reports. Assisting the Registrar with strategy and / or enhancement projects. Legal research and writing. Tasks includes working with the Judges and Registrars to ensure judgments for CFI and CA cases are handed down efficiently and in line with internal KPIs. Maintain the Registry’s inbox by responding to enquiries, meeting with lawyers and liaising with the relevant team members. This role reports directly to the Registrar.
